The Spire Center for Performing Arts, the entertainment mecca of Plymouth, presents folk artist David Mallet, tonight, May 29, 8 pm, at The Spire Center for Performing Arts, 25 ½ Court Street, Plymouth. Singer/songwriter Maurice Dickson opens.

In a career spanning four decades, David Mallett has recorded 14 albums, has seen several hundred covers of his original songs, including the American folk classic "Garden Song" (Inch by Inch, Row by Row) performing in clubs, concert halls and festivals across the US, Canada and Europe. He has appeared on numerous broadcasts, including National Public Radio's A Prairie Home Companion. Known for his carefully written, poetic offerings, his body of work has provided material for an eclectic list of artists that include Alison Krauss, Pete Seeger, Hal Ketchum, Emmylou Harris, John Denver and The Muppets.

Maurice Dickson's long journey began in 1975 when he became a musician: playing, singing and writing. A year later, at 16 he put together his first band, belting out his original tunes and covers. For the next four-and-a-half years, he performed around Europe and North Africa. He has since developed a unique contemporary style of folk and blues guitar picking which, along with finely crafted lyrics, is now his trademark.

Tickets for David Mallett are $25. Tickets are now available, advance purchase is recommended, seating is limited to capacity. The Spire is handicap accessible, public parking is available street side, and in public lots in close proximity.
