Singer/Songwriter Jeremy Loops arrived on South Africa's music scene debuting at No. 1 on iTunes in 2014 with his debut album, "Trading Change", topping radio charts, and quickly developed a huge following in his homeland. The album went gold in South Africa, was named "Album of the Year" by iTunes SA, won multiple awards including MTV Africa's Best Alternative Album 2015, and was described by "Clash Magazine" as "a dexterous, complex work, packed with subtle depths and sudden shifts". He received raves from "Red Bull Music", who said, "Loops makes huge-sounding upbeat songs - a fusion of Mumford And Sons at their most anthemic and pan-global South African pop...." Jeremy recently released his sophomore record, "Critical As Water", which was produced by Will Hicks (Ed Sheeran, Lily Allen, Bastille), on March 16. The album debuted at #1 on the SA iTunes charts and has charted Top Ten on the Alternative iTunes chart in major territories around the world including the UK, USA, and Canada, and he received the honor of being the cover star of the first ever "New Music Friday South Africa" on Spotify. As an environmental activist (he co-founded Greenpop, a tree-planting organization that has planted over 85,000 trees in Southern Africa since its inception), he addresses issues affecting his home country in his music, and the new album features poignant songs shedding light on the water crisis in his hometown of Cape Town. To celebrate the release of the new album, Jeremy will be touring around the world and will be performing in select cities in the US and Canada in late April/early May. Jeremy previously toured the US in 2015 as support for Rebelution on their "Winter Greens Tour", in addition to two headlining tours.

The "Au Review" in Australia reviewed "Critical As Water" and raved, "The theme of water is obviously strong throughout the record, taking the listener through moments of loftiness and weightlessness within the music. The music is grounded by Loops' solid songwriting skill; he has a penchant for enticing and captivating with his words."
"Waves", the first single from the new album (a song he wrote one night after returning from surfing), features Loops' signature guitar licks. "I've always looked to water for restoration," he says. "Pretty much throughout my life, when I can't make sense of things or it feels like the sky is falling. A long surf is all I need to clear my head and try figure out next steps. And that's the big theme on 'Waves' and the collection of songs on this album because I've felt like I've made this album in an atmosphere of sheer global despair."
