Sound Royalties Congratulates Steve Dorff on Induction into Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame

Music industry finance firm Sound Royalties today is congratulating its valued friend, legendary songwriter and composer Steve Dorff, for his upcoming induction into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. Dorff will be honored at the 49th Annual Induction and Awards ceremony, taking place this Thursday, June 14 in New York City.

Founded in 1969, the Songwriters Hall of Fame brings together the past, present and future of music by honoring renowned creatives and performers who have had tremendous impacts on the industry. Inductees must be published writers or performers for a minimum of 20 years and boast catalogues of notable hit songs.

Dorff exceeds these prestigious standards with his storied songwriting career. He has penned songs for music legends including Barbara Streisand, Celine Dion and Whitney Houston, and is the creative genius behind chart-topping hits such as "I Cross My Heart" by George Strait, "Through the Years" by Kenny Rogers and "Every Which Way but Loose" by Eddie Rabbitt, the title track from Clint Eastwood's 1978 film.

Dorff established himself as a gifted creative in the film industry, composing music for 28 movies, including blockbusters Rocky IV, Pure Country and Tin Cup. He further excelled in TV, composing for a variety of beloved shows, such as Murder She Wrote, Columbo and Reba, and wrote the music score for Growing Pains' iconic theme song "As Long As We Got Each Other."

Over the past five decades, Dorff has achieved 20 Top 10 hits and 12 No. 1 hits. He has been honored with more than 40 BMI awards, an American Music Award and is a three-time Grammy and six-time Emmy nominee.
