Sweet Little Bloodhound's self-titled album offers a new genre of music, Soulful Rock, a rousing blend of Classic Rock with a hint of Funk topped off with a dash of Southern flavah. Their sound has hints of The Eagles mixed with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, but with a female lead singer. Original guitar licks and creative rhythm sequences support honest, raw, and captivating lyrics sung by a strong female vocalist. The album's reception in previews and at their recent release parties in the Northeast are proving that Sweet Little Bloodhound fills a void in the current music offerings.
The inspired artists behind SLB are professional and accredited in their own right. Devlin Miles, lead vocalist and songwriter, is a Grammy Member and solo touring artist. Ben Falkoff, lead guitarist and post-graduate of UMASS Amherst Jazz Program and Rick Mauran, drummer, a graduate of Berklee College of Music. The three met for their first tour on the roller coasters of Six Flags. According to Miles, joining forces with Mauran and Falkoff was "like putting clothes on these raw songs and inviting the world in through their ears."
Their debut album includes thirteen original tracks such as "Superhero Female," with a 60s go-go beat motivating woman to "...shatter all glass ceilings." The title track,"Sweet Little Bloodhound," will "hold you 'til you're bones." There are also two covers offering tribute to some of the bands' influences:A grooving cover of The Eurythmics' "Sweet Dreams" and an eerie version of Fleetwood Mac's "Gold Dust Woman." This album is full of soul for those romantic hearts seeking [love] and for those rallying for change in their lives.Fans are calling it "a great driving CD."
The album is available digitally on Itunes, Amazon.com, and CD Baby, and physical copies, along with snazzy SLB merchandise can be ordered directly from the band via www.SweetLittleBloodhound.com.The band also shares their journey and offers recording tips for indie artists and bands on the SLB Blog- The Howler.
