Soul-Pop Songstress Madi Rindge Annouces Debut EP 'Just One' Image

Soul-Pop songstress Madi Rindge has officially announced the release date for her debut EP Just One, set to drop on April 1st. The LA-based singer-songwriter continues to make a name for herself in the music world by effortlessly blending pop inspiration, electro-synth beats, and her soulful voice to create the five track EP. Just One marks Madi's first-ever full EP and sees the enigmatic songwriter releasing just one song on the first of each month until the album's official release. The conceptual EP will feature the title track and first single "Just One," (dropped 11/1/17), the girl empowerment anthem "Perfect," (dropped 12/1/17), and her current single "Somethin' On Ya," that dropped on New Year's Day. The first three singles are available now on all digital retailers. Madi also kicked off the new year with a sold-out performance at the Sofar Sounds Los Angeles venue on January 5th.

The tracklisting for Just One is as follows:

"Just One"

"Perfect"

"Somethin' On Ya"

"Fire"

"Stars"

"I'm incredibly excited about my first official EP! This body of work is about my growth, authenticity, strength, and vulnerability as an artist and is shown throughout the tracklisting," says Madi. "It took a lot of hard work, patience, creativity and love to make this come to life. I hope all my fans love Just One as much as I do!"

Just One comes on the heels of Madi's most recent hit, "Comfortable," which she dropped independently last September to critical praise. With a string of hit singles since 2015, Madi's first official EP expands into the synth R&B world, making a slight shift away from her EDM and pop roots. For her first EP the soulful Madi tapped producer and friend Geo, together creating a unique and so-called 'perfect' concept of releasing 'just one' track on the first of each month until the official release date in April. With that in mind November gave us the "shiny synth brilliance" of the title track, which garnered comparisons to British singer-songwriter NAO, and was the official inspiration for the EP as a whole. Madi penned "Just One" after ending a toxic relationship and coming to the realization that all she needed was 'just one' person to love her and for everything she could and couldn't do. With elements of electronic and jazz inspiration, the track became a therapeutic writing process and re-inspired the songstress' love for writing music.

Following in its footsteps, December brought us the female empowerment track "Perfect." The song became Madi's own way of actively standing up against the idea of women having to be perfect, an anthem to girls everywhere that everyone has their own ideas of what perfection really is. Inspired by Mura Masa, Young Franco, and Snakehips, "Perfect" was praised by OkayPlayer and proclaimed Madi as an "artist to watch." The LA beauty then kicked off the new year with her RiRi inspired "Somethin' On Ya." The track, which featured on Earmilk.com, was inspired by a personal experience with a co-worker, and the secrets that were shared through that relationship.

Following the Rihanna inspired track, Madi's release for the month of love is all about the fears and desires of wanting to be with someone and reflecting on past relationships. "Fire" is the electric ballad on the EP giving us euphoric synth vibes and magnetic melodies. The last track to be released before the final EP drops is the metaphorical "Stars." The song, set to drop March 1st, is about the unique qualities people see in their significant others. Written from the perspective of Madi's best friend, the story and song reminded her that true love really does exist. Just One will be released in its entirety on April 1, 2018.
