Sony/ATV Extends Worldwide Agreement with Two Inch Punch Image

Sony/ATV Music Publishing has extended its worldwide deal with UK hit songwriter, artist and producer Ben Ash who works under the name Two Inch Punch.

The new agreement covers Ash's entire song catalogue, including the No. 1 hit "Money On My Mind" penned with and recorded by Sam Smith and songs recorded by artists such as Rag'n'Bone Man, Jake Bugg, Jessie Ware and Years & Years. The new deal additionally takes in future works.

Sony/ATV UK Managing Director and President, Worldwide Creative Guy Moot said: "We are thrilled to continue this relationship with such a hugely talented producer and songwriter."

Sony/ATV Head of A&R, UK David Ventura said: "We could not be happier! Working with Ben for the last few years has been tremendously inspiring. He is without a doubt one of the hottest writer/producers in the country and his track record speaks for itself. Alongside his work with established international artists, Ben has a gift for recognising and developing emerging song-writer talent, which is incredible. On behalf of everyone here in the UK and in the US, we are over the moon to continue our adventure with Ben and his team."

Ben Ash said: "I really appreciate Sony/ATV having faith in me again. I've always had a great relationship with the UK team, including Guy, David, Alice, Sarah and Alastair. More recently, the LA team, including Amanda and Nick, have been so amazing, too. I really appreciate them all and I hope I can reward their faith. So excited for the next couple of years!"

His managers Ben Parmar and Daniel Parmar of PMR said: "We're stoked to continue our working relationship with Sony/ATV, Guy and David and his team. Two Inch is in the most furtive period of his career and we are all incredibly excited for what the future holds."

Ben Ash is one of the UK's hottest and most in-demand songwriters and producers, having worked with artists including Sam Smith, Rag'n'Bone Man, Damon Albarn, Anne-Marie, Jake Bugg, Mikky Ekko, Lianne La Havas, Tory Lanez, Lion Babe, James Vincent McMorrow, Tinashe, Ty Dolla $ign, Jessie Ware and Years & Years.

After initially putting out a series of releases under the recording name Two Inch Punch, including acclaimed debut single "Love You Up", Ash began writing and producing for other artists, including then rising star Sam Smith. He co-penned the Capitol recording artist's breakout single "Money On My Mind", which became his first ever UK No. 1 single and featured on Smith's multi-million-selling, Grammy-winning debut album In The Lonely Hour alongside "Life Support", another Ash composition.

He co-wrote several songs on Rag'n'Bone Man's debut album Human as well as producing the title track, which reached No. 2 in the UK, was a hit around the world and won British Single of the Year at the 2018 BRIT Awards. The chart-topping album has surpassed 1 million sales just in the UK where it was the second biggest seller of 2017 and reached the top three in a number of other leading music markets, including Germany, France and Australia.

He has worked extensively with Jessie Ware, including co-writing and co-producing a number of songs on her Top 10 album Tough Love in collaboration with US songwriter/producer Benny Blanco as the production duo BenZel. He and Blanco have also put out their own releases under the BenZel name as well as worked together with other acts.

More recently, Ash has been writing with and developing UK songwriter and recording artist Rex Orange County who in January was announced as the runner-up on the BBC Sound of 2018 poll. The annual survey of music critics and industry figures highlights the most promising new music talent for the forthcoming year. Rex OC is currently courting the interests of a number of major labels.
