New Amsterdam -- a non-profit artist service organization dedicated to supporting the public's engagement with new music through presentation and distribution -- will celebrate a banner year with a benefit party at the beautiful brand new Williamsburg venue/restaurant, Baby's All Right.
The party will feature performances by one of New Amsterdam's newest artists, the stunning Trevor Wilson & Vocal Ensemble, as well as acclaimed producer/composer Son Lux, whose debut recording earned him the title of "Best New Artist" by NPR. His just-released third album Lanterns was called "one of fall's most fascinating releases" by Stereogum. Admission is $20 suggested minimum donation at the door and includes complimentary hors d'oeuvres and drink specials. New Amsterdam Presents' Inaugural Year-end Benefit feat. These achievements, while they reflect New Amsterdam's strength as an organization, are a direct extension of the talent and skill of the incredible artists in the New Amsterdam roster. These artists - composers, performers, bands and ensembles - are united not by a common sound but by their lofty artistic standards and a shared desire to continually develop their craft, taking chances artistically while engaging with as wide a range of audiences as possible. Founded on principles of community, artistic diversity, and stylistic freedom, New Amsterdam will use donations to continue to support today's most innovative artists in developing their daring visions and bringing their work to the widest possible audience.Videos
