Slushii, the forward-thinking electronic moniker of the New Jersey-born producer Julian Scanlan, has teamed up with the prodigious Latina powerhouse vocalist Sofia Reyes on a new collaborative single "Never Let You Go" arriving today through Big Beat Records! The pair star in an entertaining video showcasing two unlikely friends brought together by the mundane grind of their jobs, cutting loose after hours to make fun of an otherwise routine work night.
Slushii's brisk rise over the past two years has seen the 21-year-old producer reach massive heights early on. Originally known as DJ Swoon, Scanlan begin releasing remixes on Soundcloud, but due to copyright claims, his profile was removed...fast-forward to 2016, when Scanlan relaunched on SoundCloud under the name Slushii, releasing a slew of massive remixes that catapulted him into the spotlight. He's since gone on to collaborate or remix Marshmello, Maroon 5 and French Montana, and has been touted as the new face of the next generation of electronic music by the likes of Skrillex, Tiesto and Steve Aoki.
With sky high vocal range, worldwide appeal, and striking swagger, Sofía Reyes ignited a mainstream breakthrough in 2018 with her track "1,2,3." She set the stage with her 2017's full-length debut LOUDER! and its unbreakable string of hit singles. Overall, Sofia has accumulated more than half a billion Spotify and YouTube streams. Among many accolades, Sofia was nominated for a 2017 Latin GRAMMY® Award in the category of "Best New Artist." Billboard also touted her among its "Hot Latin Acts in Their 20s" recent feature. Now, as she's breaking through her pop ubiquity, she shares her excitement for exploring collabs in the dance music space, such as "Never Let You Go" with Slushii: "I'm very excited for this collab. Slushii is super talented and I'm thankful to be a part of this song. The video is so fun and unique, and the song is a smash. We added some cute Spanish lyrics in as well - can't wait for the world to see/hear it!"
Slushii celebrates millions of streams on his original music, including his Find Your Wings EP earlier in the year, and newly released album DREAM. His future bass and dubstep-inspired sound informed his debut EP, Brain Freeze, as well as his later projects. Receiving just as much buzz are his remixes of "Want U 2" with Marshmello, "Closer" by The Chainsmokers, and "I Want You To Know" with Zedd and Selena Gomez. From Ultra Music Festival in Miami to Lollapalooza to EDC Las Vegas, and maintaining residencies at some of the hottest clubs worldwide, Slushii is a name that isn't going anywhere anytime soon!
