Brooklyn band Sky-Pony will hit the stage at Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2 on Saturday February 28 at 10pm. The band has garnered a cult following for raucous live sets that merge rock show and theatrical event -- as Deli Magazine put it, "you never know what to expect from one of their gigs."

The group is fronted by Lauren Worsham (Drama Desk Award winner and Tony Award nominee for A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder, currently on Broadway), flanked by two female backup singers. The project is a collaboration with her husband, Obie Award winning songwriter Kyle Jarrow, who pens the tunes. The Wall Street Journal describes the group as "a 1960s girl group on crack - tight, fierce, hilarious and out of their minds!" The NY Times describes them as "flamboyant art pop." The NJ Star-Ledger writes, "Sky-Pony combines lively electro-pop melodies with synchronized girl-group dance moves... [Lauren Worsham's] fierce, high-energy stage presence has made her magnetic onstage as the front-woman."

It all happens on Saturday February 28 at Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2 (196 Allen Street). Show 10pm. Tickets are $5. More info and advance tickets available at http://www.ticketfly.com/event/762265.

Sky-Pony is a Brooklyn based band that serves up lush, lyrical, often cheeky indie-pop with a healthy dose of theatrics. They incorporate costumes, choreography, and projections into their high-energy live shows. Rock concert meets performance art meets burlesque, you might say. Their discography includes two EPs: Say You Love Me Like You Mean It and Raptured Live, both available on itunes. In addition to Worsham and Jarrow, Sky-Pony also features the talents of Kevin Wunderlich, Lizzie O'Hara, Kristine Piacentile, Jessi Suzuki, Perry Silver, Eric Day and David Blasher.
