Sky-Pony to Play Mercury Lounge, 3/16

On March 16, Brooklyn-based band Sky-Pony will hit the stage at Mercury Lounge, with opening band Toys and Tiny Instruments. Since its formation in 2012, Sky-Pony has garnered a cult following for sets that merge rock show and theatrical event. The Wall Street Journal describes Sky-Pony as "a 1960s girl group on crack - tight, fierce, hilarious and out of their minds." Lauren Worsham (who's also currently appearing in Broadway's Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder) fronts the group, supported by her husband, Obie Award winning bandleader/songwriter Kyle Jarrow.

It all happens on Sunday March 16 at Mercury Lounge (217 E Houston St, NYC). It's an early show, with opening band Toys and Tiny Instruments at 7pm and Sky-Pony at 8pm. Tickets are $10. Sky-Pony is a Brooklyn based band that serves up lush, lyrical, often cheeky indie-pop with a healthy dose of theatrics.
