While most teenagers are relaxing on their Summer vacation, up-and-coming pop rockers SIX VOLT have been busy playing crowds across the country alongside heartthrob Cody Simpson, gracing the homepage of J-14.com, and receiving wild applause from various press outlets including Absolute Punk. With many more dates to come as part of the band's busy Simon Malls and Camplified! Tour schedule, this band is certainly not taking a break! On behalf of their label, SHUFFLEBOARD RECORDS, SIX VOLT will also be releasing new content in a ground-breaking fashion suited to fit the ever-changing digital industry landscape. Their sophomore release, a 5-song EP entitled TEENAGE ANTHEM, will become available online this OCTOBER 12TH.
SIX VOLT is the first band off the New Jersey-based music label, Shuffleboard Records. Noticing the remarkable changes in today's modern music industry, Shuffleboard Records and SIX VOLT will be releasing the new SIX VOLT content in a contemporary fashion - every 6 months, a new 4-5 song SIX VOLT EP will be made available to the public and available via ITunes & other digital outlets. This will insure constant new music for fans and an ongoing way to stay in touch with the band! Andy Karp, CEO of Shuffleboard Records and Former EVP/Head of A&R at Atlantic Records, recently spoke on the group, "I've spent over twenty years in the music business doing A&R and promotion and I have a good idea of what it takes for bands to be successful. SIX VOLT know that more than anything, you have to give your audience what it wants the most--that is, great new music on a regular basis. I'm impressed."
Though young in age, SIX VOLT has certainly garnered great respect from the press! Absolute Punk recently reviewed their first single, MIND ON ME, and said: "The song drips with the kind of commercial flair and inherent energy that radio charts would eat up," calling the sound "jubilant, caffeinated pop-rock", and described lead singer Nichole Deppe's vocals as "crystalline, honey-dipped, and far-reaching." New Jersey's own, The Aquarian, called SIX VOLT "legit" and said MIND ON ME was "honest as opposed to trite" comparing Deppe's "pleasant voice" and attitude to
Avril Lavigne.
The band also took J-14.com's HOT BAND ALERT this June 2010 with a homepage feature alongside heartthrobs
Justin Bieber and
Taylor Lautner. Check the piece out now at http://www.j-14.com/2010/06/j-14-hot-band-alert-six-volt.html!
