Southern pop trio Sir Rosevelt - comprised of Zac Brown, Niko Moon and Ben Simonetti - has been making waves recently, teasing fans with new songs off their eagerly-awaited, self-titled debut album. Now, after much anticipation, Sir Rosevelt is out today via Elektra Records (buy/stream).
Combining the talents of Brown, Moon and Simonetti, their debut album is a mix of pop, dance, acoustic instrumentation and southern sensibility. Ahead of its release, the band shared "For My Own" (co-written with 10x Grammy Award winner Pharrell Williams), as well as "Something 'Bout You" and "The Bravest" (both co-produced by Timbaland).
The origins of the album (and the trio itself) can be traced to Brown, Moon, and Simonetti's experience working together on the 2015 Zac Brown Band release, JEKYLL + HYDE. Tapping into their creative synchronicity, the ZBB tour bus became their 'studio.' Inspired by the full-throttle dynamics of dance music, and the elasticity of pop, the trio pulled influences from various musical styles and artists when writing and recording; the result is an album that is both utterly unique and remarkably cohesive, melding disparate influences into an innovative, up-to-the-minute, brand of Southern pop unlike anything else.
From the outset, fan and press reception for Sir Rosevelt has been incredibly strong, with Rolling Stone calling the music "dancefloor-ready," and Live Nation's Ones To Watch raving about the genre-bending group, "The powerhouse trio delivers a mystical taste of what Sir Rosevelt is all about - infusing country, electronica, and rock together in a foot-stomping, alternative folk-string dance riot."
The trio's 2016 debut single "Sunday Finest" was also co-written with Williams and was featured prominently throughout coverage of the 2017 NBA All-Star Game. The television debut of the single came earlier this year with the group's high-energy performance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live."
This month, the band is ESPN's featured artist with "The Bravest" and "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us" highlighted throughout the network's programming.
The band is also currently running a "Something 'Bout You" remix contest with Metapop. Fans are eligible to receive cash prizes, a LANDR Pro subscription, and a possible commercial release for their remixes. Learn more about the remix contest here!
Sir Rosevelt will celebrate the release of their album with a highly-anticipated, sold-out show on December 29th at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas - CBS Radio's "An Epic New Year's Eve Weekend."
