Singer-Songwriter Mat Kerekes Signs To Black Cement Records And Releases New Single Image

Toledo, OH singer-songwriter Mat Kerekes today announced his signing to Black Cement Records and shared "Ruby", the first single off his forthcoming sophomore studio album, due out next year. The track is available to stream and download now HERE.

"Ruby was the last song I wrote for the record," shared Kerekes. "Everything about it came so easy and felt so good; it all fell into place very naturally. The song makes me feel something, and that was pretty much my only intention."

Best known as lead vocalist of celebrated alt rock band Citizen, Kerekes presents his softer side and showcases his versatility as a singer-songwriter on his new solo material. Incorporating elements of pop and alternative, his upcoming album boasts anthemic choruses, dynamic arrangements, and infectious melodies.

"Ruby" is the first new solo music from Kerekes since the release of his 2016 debut studio album Luna & The Wild Blue Everything. His forthcoming album will follow Tigers Jaw's heralded 2017 album Spin as the second release on producer Will Yip's newly formed Elektra Music Group sub-label Black Cement Records.

Kerekes today also announced a North American tour that will kick off on February 28 in Cleveland, OH and wrap on March 29 in Chicago, IL. Jetty Bones and Jacob Sigman will provide support. Tickets for the tour are on sale now. A complete list of upcoming live dates and ticket information can be found HERE.
