Singer, songwriter, and GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Shooter Jennings has announced he will join legendary Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan on the North American Tour in support of his forthcoming solo album Tenderness. Jennings, who produced the album, and his band will serve as both direct support and McKagan's backing band on the tour, which kicks off on May 30, 2019 in Philadelphia, PA and wraps on June 16, 2019 in Seattle, WA. Tickets for all shows are available starting today HERE. Prior to the tour, McKagan and Jennings will deliver a special performance at GRAMMY® Museum in Los Angeles, CA on April 4, 2019.
McKagan and Jennings began recording Tenderness one year ago this month, working out of Station House studios in Echo Park, CA. The album features Jennings and his band - Aubrey Richmond (fiddle, vocals), John Schreffler (guitar, pedal steel, vocals), and Jamie Douglass (drums) - along with appearances by The Waters and The Suicide Horn Section (which features Duff's brother Matt McKagan on trombone), amongst others. Tenderness is due for release on May 31, 2019 and tracks "Tenderness" and "Chip Away" are available now.
Prior to joining McKagan in the studio, Jennings collaborated with longtime friend and Low Country Sound founder Dave Cobb to co-produce Brandi Carlile's critically acclaimed sixth studio albumBy The Way, I Forgive You. Jennings was honored with his first GRAMMY® Award for Best Americana Album for his work on project, which received a total of six nominations and three awards. Carlile and Jennings recently reunited in the studio to co-produce country legend Tanya Tucker's forthcoming album While I'm Living. Marilyn Manson also revealed he was working on a new album with Jennings in a recent instagram post.
Jennings released his eighth studio album Shooter via Low Country Sound/Elektra Records on August 10, 2018. Produced by Dave Cobb at the renowned RCA Studio A on Nashville's Music Row,Shooter was praised as "a rollocking self-titled LP that would've made dad Waylon proud" (Entertainment Weekly), "a God's honest country-rock record" (Garden & Gun), and "a succinct but rowdy listen" (Rolling Stone). Following the release of Shooter, Jennings delivered a rousing performance of "Bound Ta Git Down" on CONAN and appeared on influential podcasts WTF with Marc Maronand The Joe Rogan Experience. Shooter is available now HERE.
