"The video tells a story about what's possible when we break free from abuse and celebrate ourselves, our friends, our community," says
Shirley House front man Sam Brady about Get Lit. "This song will not only get you on your feet but also create a feeling of acceptance," Brady explains. "That's what defines every
Shirley House performance."
"We are most proud of the fact that this entire video was executed and organized within the Shirley family," says director Nicalena Iovino, who also acted as executive producer for Get Lit. "McKittrick gave us the space and we went from there, arranging everything from the camera crew to the creative to the craft services!"

Called "The Next Big Thing You'll Want to Share with Everyone You Know," Shirley House fuses timeless pop melodies with today's cutting edge electronic house music to make a completely new sound.
Shirley House's high energy, live performances consistently create an instantaneous dance party. The band is comprised of a diverse group of talent including choreographer and dancer, Omari Mizrahi and fellow legendary underground ballroom voguer, Monster LaBeija. Each performance combines large scale production-think Beyoncé-with the earnestness of underground music and art-think Paris is Burning. With electronic-instrumentalists, soul singers, and Afro-house dancers, the band is proud to promote an inclusive LGBT community as well as the core belief that we all have a little "Shirley" in us.
Their Friday night residency at
The Heath has welcomed guest hosts, Famke Janssen (X-Men, GoldenEye, Nip Tuck) James Whiteside (ABT Principal dancer and YouTube celebrity) and
Tamara Tunie (Law & Order: SVU) among others. The band joins a list of the venue's most memorable performers including Sting, Leslie Odom Jr., Mumford and Sons, Panic at The Disco, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, and Flight of the Concords, to name a few.
