Lily Breshears grips tight the reins of her voice, bending the edges of melody in ways that wrap beauty in a veil of unease. On "All Will Be New" she paints a scene of poetic eeriness, where insistent piano and rhythm build hypnotically into an otherworldly groove as turbulent textures float in and out of frame.

Breshears came to music early; taking up piano at four, she left that for a classical voice career until "I went to college for singing and realized I hated opera" she laughs. She took up orchestral harp instead and simultaneously rediscovered her voice on the piano. In 2015, Breshears started a project combining turn of millennium R&B and elements of Debussy and Ravel, finding a sound close to triphop.

Sheers, the band she fronts with Daniel Rossi (drums) and Aaron Stern (bass/synth/guitar), is her creative outlet. "My 'day jobs' are now being a classical singer, pianist, and harpist, which I love" she explains. "Playing in bands is generally the cherry on top of being a classical musician."

Recorded and mixed by David Pollock at Fortress Galaxy Studios in Portland, and mastered by Timothy Stollenwerk of Stereophonic Mastering, the compositions precisely manicured sonics hint at the careful thought put into its creation. Abruptly subsiding to only Breshears, sinister doubling voices, and ethereal texture, the listener finds themselves a bit dazed and perhaps even shaken with the closing line, "All will be new then, and all will be good."
