K-pop icon SEVENTEEN today dropped their 11th mini album SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN. The highly anticipated album has set a record as the most pre-ordered album in K-pop history with 5.2M+ copies ordered before release.

Titled after a playful twist on the expression ‘Seventh Heaven’ meaning a state of extreme happiness, SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN is a joyous celebration of the band’s journey thus far. Its official release was accompanied by the music video for the lead single “God of Music,” a cheerful soul funk track embellished with sounds of synths and brass.

Filmed in Budapest, the video features a silent world where music has disappeared until SEVENTEEN enters the picture, discovering and spreading the joy of music that was once lost. While each member sets off from a different location in the beginning, they find their way to one another and join hands for the big festival finale.

In addition to the lead single, the mini album comprises a total of 8 tracks including “Back 2 Back” (Performance Unit), “Monster” (Hip-hop Unit), and “Yawn” (Vocal Unit) along with two dedicated tracks for their fans, “Diamond Days” and “Headliner.” It also features the all-English track “SOS (Prod. Marshmello)” highlighting the importance of courage and togetherness.

According to PLEDIS Entertainment, the mini album has recorded 5,206,718 copies in pre-orders as of Oct 23, transcending the band’s previous release FML’s 4.64M mark as well as any other K-pop acts’ records. With this new milestone, SEVENTEEN holds both K-pop’s best-selling album FML and most pre-ordered album SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN to their name.

About SEVENTEEN:

SEVENTEEN—comprised of S.COUPS, JEONGHAN, JOSHUA, JUN, HOSHI, WONWOO, WOOZI, THE 8, MINGYU, DK, SEUNGKWAN, VERNON and DINO—have rocketed to the forefront of the music scene fueled by a fiercely independent spirit and a nonpareil in-house creative ecosystem.

The 13-piece act’s innovative structure hinges on the interplay of three units: hip-hop, vocal, and performance. Living up to the title of “K-pop Stage-breakers,” SEVENTEEN have unassumingly become one of the biggest groups ever due to their world-class synchronization, jaw-dropping performances, and tight teamwork.

The performance powerhouse made their U.S. television debut on The Late Late Show with James Corden in 2021 and followed it with unforgettable performances on The Kelly Clarkson Show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and MTV Fresh Out Live. The group closed out 2022 as the first K-pop artist to take home PUSH Performance of the Year at 2022 MTV Video Music Awards, and the first K-pop act to win Best New and Best Push at 2022 MTV European Music Awards.

SEVENTEEN reached a career high with their 10th Mini Album FML released in April 2023. The group itself hit No. 1 on the Artist 100 while FML debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the Top Album Sales and World Albums charts. The act also made history with FML as it became the best-selling K-pop album ever with over 6.2M albums sold as of July, 2023.
