As a Houston native, Grammy nominated singer-songwriter, Sandy Knox (Reba McEntire's "Does He Love You, "Why Haven't I Heard From You") is heartbroken to see that so many families are still displaced and unable to go back to their homes, after the devastating damage left behind by the category 4 storm. Knox and many of her industry friends donated their time and talents to reprise her 1982 anthem "We Are Houston" and re-recorded the tune with Sandy's dear friend and fellow Houstonian, 5 time Grammy award winning artist BJ Thomas on lead vocals and The Music Row Choir on background vocals. The Music Row Choir is comprised of a lengthy roster of industry greats, including Ray Stevens and Duane Allen of the Oak Ridge Boys, LeRoy Parnell, Etta Britt and so many more (full list below.) The track is available now on all digital platforms HERE and ALL monies raised from music sales are going to Houston and the Hurricane Harvey Relief fund.

While Knox is currently a resident of Nashville, Tennessee, her Houston, Texas roots and pride run deep. "We are Houston" was written and recorded by Sandy in 1982 for a local radio station (KRBE) in search of a definitive anthem for Houston. The song was a finalist in the competition and soon became the most requested, receiving the most airplay and indeed filling that need for a Houston anthem.

The Music Row Choir, whose seamless blend of harmonies soulfully fill the background, is comprised of some of the industry's best known talent including Linda Davis, Ray Stevens, Duane Allen, JT Hodges, LeRoy Parnell, Jason Eskridge, Etta Britt, Leslie Satcher, Michelle Prentice, Kim Fleming, Ester Nicholson, Andrea Pearson, Bobby Tomberlin, Rachel Kate, Bill Whyte, Lisa Oliver Gray, Kenny Foster, Georgia Middleman, Dianne Davidson, Josh Matheny, Kim Copeland, Bruce Chanel, Janelle Arthur, and Olivia Jones.
