Australian-born, LA-based musician Sam Fischer returns today with a brand new single titled "Same Friends" - available now on all digital platforms. Its accompanying video is premiering exclusively with Billboard and offers a look into what's to come from the emerging singer-songwriter. Bolstered by the touches of Grammy-winning producer Warren "Oak" Felder (Alessia Cara, Kehlani, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj), the track is brutally honest and soulful with a reverence to the classic Motown style.

Fischer comments, "It's so hard to move on from someone when you're constantly reminded of them because of the same friends you share. It's awkward trying to navigate those friendships in the aftermath of a breakup - you really see who has your back and who absolutely does not."

Growing up in the Northern suburbs of Sydney, Sam began writing music at the age of 12 and became formally trained in both the violin and saxophone. Following a move to the US, he graduated from the Berklee College of Music in 2014 and dove head-first into the music scene as a vocalist for HOLYCHILD. A prolific songwriter, his talents have led him to co-write for the likes of DJ Mustard, Clean Bandit, Sabrina Claudio, and Jennifer Hudson.

"Same Friends" follows the release of Fischer's first single "Lean" which premiered with Stereogum in 2016 and garnered over 300,000 streams. Earlier this year, he featured on Opia's "Secrets," amassing over 1 million streams. As Fischer readies his debut EP slated for release in early 2018, stay tuned for details to come!
