Sad Planets - John Petkovic (Cobra Verde, Sweet Apple, Guided by Voices, Death of Samantha) and Patrick Carney (Black Keys) - has just released a video for "Yesterday Girls".

The first video for Sad Planets' debut album "Akron, Ohio" - out April 19 on Tee Pee Records -- is set in Nashville's oldest dive bar, the Springwater Supper Club and Lounge. The legendary bar once hosted Al Capone and Jimmy Hoffa (who used to gamble there), Hank Williams Sr. and David Allen Coe (who used to play there) and Taylor Swift and Kidd Rock (who have stopped in for drinks).

"Yesterday Girls" opens with Patrick Carney and punk-rock legend Cheetah Chrome (Dead Boys, Rocket from the Tombs) playing a friendly game of pool. That is, until a couple of colorful troublemakers (played by Los Angeles actors-musicians Flannery Lunsford and Jenn Hall) bust through the doors. A duel -- with pool sticks - ensues.

"It's a tale of low-rent chivalry set in a dive bar," says John Petkovic, who directed the shoot. "A guy walks in, gets insulted and starts fighting. A girl walks away, unimpressed with it all. And twelve pool sticks were broken in the process."

"Akron, Ohio" is the product of two friends with storied careers and beloved bands coming getting together to have fun and record a batch of songs on the spot, in the moment.

"We had never played with one another and just decided to get together to create music, for fun, without expectations," says Petkovic. "It's the purest way to make music."
