Today, Swedish/Ugandan artist Sabina Ddumba has released the vibrant new official video for new single "Small World." The video features Ddumba in a colorful surrealist land donning stunning fashion items creating a gorgeous supplement to the song itself. New single "Small World" saw a release earlier this month and is out now via Warner Sweden, available everywhere here. See the song's debut with HYPEBAE here.
A richly layered song exploring the intricacies lining the universal pursuit of happiness and peace of mind,"Small World" is Sabina's first new release of 2018 and the start of a new chapter. Of the track, Sabina describes, "The song is based on the fact that one can feel very lonely sometimes with everything that happens around you. But you're not. The world can feel so big, but it's so small at the same time."
The youngest of 8 children, Sabina was born from Ugandan parents. Family life changed drastically when her mother returned to Uganda, leaving Sabina's dad as the sole parent when she was just 8 years old. At the age of 14, Sabina joined Stockholm's prestigious Tensta Gospel Choir, which has boasted alumni such as Lykke Li and Seinabo Sey. By 18, Sabina landed a cut on Katy Perry's "Walking On Air" here -- hear that booming vocal right at the beginning? Yes, that's Sabina! This stood as a breakthrough moment leading her to pursue a solo career.
Released 2016, Sabina Ddumba's debut album Homeward Bound boasted hit singles such as "Effortless" and "Not Too Young." Praised by outlets such as The Line of Best Fit and The FADER, who hail Sabina's knack for recording "stadium-sized pop," she has garnered nearly 100MM Spotify plays across her releases.
Sabina Ddumba has also gained a loyal following in the fashion space with ELLE Sweden awarding her Sweden's 'Best Dressed Female' award of 2016.
