Acclaimed electronic rock band STS9 today (8/26) have partnered with Consequence of Sound to give fans an early listen to their new album THE UNIVERSE INSIDE--the band's first new full-length studio album in nearly seven years--ahead of its official Friday, September 2 release. The 13-track album, the band's first featuring bassist Alana Rocklin, continues their stylistic exploration in the studio, which is notable on the album's lead single "Get Loud." Fans can pre-order THE UNIVERSE INSIDE on iTunes or 1320 Records now and receive instant downloads of "Supercluster," "Get Loud"and "Give & Take."

The members of STS9--Hunter Brown (guitar/sequences), Jeffree Lerner(percussion), David Phipps (keyboards/synths), Zach Velmer (drums) and Alana Rocklin (bass)--went through a lot over the course of making this record. In order to connect and express something more direct than they could with the music alone, the band chose to utilize more lyrics than they have on any of their previous efforts. It's an album about human identity and the magical truth of who we are, where we're going, and our place in the Universe. THE UNIVERSE INSIDE--written, recorded, produced and mixed by the band at their own 1320 Mission Control in Santa Cruz, CA--comes on the cusp of STS9's 20th Anniversary (in 2017).

STS9 recently revealed dates for a fall headlining tour in support of the album's release. The quintet will bring their expansive sound, innovative style combining the energy of 21st century dance music with the dynamics of a band, one-of-a-kind critically acclaimed production and message of unity to audiences throughout the Midwest and East Coast this October and November. Kicking off October 20 in Minneapolis, STS9 will stop in 15 cities before wrapping November 12 at New York City's Terminal 5, with appearances at the Voodoo Music + Arts Experience and Suwannee Hulaween festivals sandwiched between. Tickets for STS9's headlining shows are on sale starting today; see below for full list of upcoming tour dates.

The newly announced dates come on the heels of the band's doubleheader in Atlanta this weekend, where STS9 performs their 30th sold-out show at The Tabernacle tonight (8/26) followed by a headlining three-set show at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park tomorrow night (8/27), featuring a set of their legendary acoustic "Axe the Cables." STS9 recently spoke with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution about the new album, their Atlanta roots and much more; read the feature HERE. On September 9 and 10, STS9--consistently ranked on Pollstar magazine's list of the nation's top 40 touring acts--will reach another touring milestone when they perform for the 14th consecutive year at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, marking their 20thperformance at the famed Colorado venue.
