Broadway star and country recording artist Laura Bell Bundy has released her newest music video, for her single "Drop on By" from the Achin' side of her brand new Achin' and Shakin' album. Check out the video on BroadwayWorld below!
Achin' and Shakin', out for wide release tomorrow, April 14, has generated enormous buzz, thanks in part to the success of her first Single, "Giddy On Up." "Giddy On Up" has received almost 1 million streams in a month and has sold over 30,000 digital singles. Bundy's video for "Giddy On Up!" is on the list for a public vote in order to gain a placement on the final list of nominees at the CMT awards. Bundy's video currently holds nominations for Female Video of the Year and USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year. Round 1 voting has now started and will run through May 3.
Those wishing to vote on the video may do so at www.cmt.com/cmt-music-awards or using the Webtools voting banner at webtools.cmt.com/viewpromo.php?promo_id=1904. The first round of voting runs through May 3, only at CMT.com, where fans will select from the top eight nominees in each of the nine categories.
Videos that debuted on CMT between Feb. 24, 2009, and March 1, 2010, are eligible for the 2010 CMT Music Awards, and finalists have been determined by a blue-ribbon panel that includes noted country music journalists, as well as music industry and CMT executives.
The first round of nominees for the 2010 CMT Music Awards has been announced in all nine categories, and voting is underway. The final four nominees in eight categories will be announced May 11. Laura Bell Bundy has been performing lead and feature roles in New York and in Regional Theater since the age of nine. She is most familiar to Broadway audiences for originating the roles of Elle Woods in Legally Blonde: The Musical, and Amber Von Tussle in the Tony Award winning musical, Hairspray, as well as a stint as Glinda in the smash hit, Wicked. In addition to her work in the theater, Ms. Bundy has also appeared as Marah Lewis in "Guiding Light" from 1999-2001 as well as guest appearances on "Cold Case," "Veronica Mars," and Comedy Central's "Strangers With Candy."
