STACKED LIKE PANCAKES Premieres New Single HOLLOW, Launches Kickstarter For 3rd Album Image

Baltimore band Stacked Like Pancakes are thrilled to share their brand new single, "Hollow," which is premiering now on Glide Magazine. "Hollow" was produced by Matt Squire (Kesha, Demi Lovato, Good Charlotte, All Time Low, Panic! at the Disco), and comes from the band's newly announced 3rd record, Strange Creatures.

On the new track, lead singer Kellen McKay shares: "Picture a song by the Foo Fighters - with horns. Our new single is brimming with fat guitar riffs, potent lyrical imagery and demanding horn melodies. If "Hollow" doesn't define brass-rock, I don't know what will."

"SLP is pushing boundaries in every way," adds Matt Squire. "I'm very excited for everyone to hear 'Hollow.'"

Stacked Like Pancakes has also launched a Kickstarter campaign in support of Strange Creatures, which will be released later this year. Fans can become a part of THE JOURNEY by pledging now, with exclusive rewards including signed copies of the record, autographed posters, personal album credit in the liner notes, and more. This spring, Stacked Like Pancakes will be bringing their unique brand of boisterous brass rock to fans all over the United States with their upcoming headline tour. The band will be hitting the road in April, visiting Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Chicago, etc.

Beginning in 2007, Stacked Like Pancakes was founded on an idolization of artists like Reel Big Fish, Streetlight Manifesto, and Less Than Jake. Following the 2011 debut ska album We're Not Insane, Stacked Like Pancakes and renaissance frontman-songwriter Kellen McKay began to develop an obsession with breaking genre boundaries. The band has since proven to maintain a thick sonic texture through a synthesis of inspirations including Reel Big Fish, twenty one pilots, Foo Fighters, Paramore, Cage the Elephant, and an untraceable amount of other artists and genres.

Stacked Like Pancakes found their niche in music festivals in 2012, supporting Kid Cudi at Towson University's Tigerfest. In 2014, SLP won the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands competition, earning their first appearance on the Vans Warped Tour. When they were invited to return in 2015, the Warped Tour sparked a love for the road. In March 2017, Stacked Like Pancakes was a featured artist for the Vans Warped Tour, performing alongside Bless the Fall, Memphis May Fire, Jule Vera, and Microwave at the official Warped Tour Kickoff Party in Orlando, Florida. During this stretch of time, they embarked on several self-booked headlining tours, a national tour supporting ska-parallels Reel Big Fish, and in 2015 released their fan-funded sophomore album THIS IS US.

Most recently Stacked Like Pancakes released a brand new song and video, "45," which premiered exclusively via Alternative Press one year after the most controversial election in our nation's history. Inspired by Donald Trump, "45" is a song of defiance, hope, and humor in a time when we desperately need all three.

2018 promises to be a big year for Stacked Like Pancakes, a band that epitomizes a tough DIY work ethic despite a meaningless band name, and they are rightfully on the rise to claim an international stage of their own.
