Teaming up with Latvian DJ Makree, acclaimed producer Secondcity has unveiled his brand-new track, a disco-inspired release by the name of 'Never Been In Love.'
Set for release via BBC Radio 1 tastemaker Danny Howard's 'Nothing Else Matters' label, the production sees Rowan (Secondcity) shift to more uptempo, floor-filling vibes, following his recent grittier releases on both Circus, Sola, Toolroom, and Relief Records.
Laced with liquid synths and groove-packed melodies, 'Never Been In Love' relies on a soulful vocal and vibrant twisting chords, with the track serving as a throwback to the 1970's glory era of glitter balls and classic disco music, sampling Stevens & Foster's 1977 single 'I Want To Be Love.'
First meeting Makree when they played at the same club night, the Chicago-raised
Secondcity is best known for his UK #1 'I Wanna Feel', which has amassed almost 40 million Spotify streams after receiving support from the likes of
Annie Mac and Zane Lowe.
Fast forward to the present day and Rowan has released a flurry of EPs, including huge summer anthem, 'Kwelanga' whilst playing some of the most exciting parties worldwide, with an Ibiza residency at ABODE at Sankeys, as well as regular gigs for ANTS, both in the UK, Ibiza, and at BPM Festival, and multiple appearances at Miami Music Week.
Founded in 2015,
Nothing Else Matters was launched with the aim of giving opportunities to promising, up-and-coming talents from the world of dance music, with
Danny Howard stating: "Everyday I'm discovering new tracks and extremely talented artists. Aside from supporting them on air and on the dancefloor, I've always wanted a way to help even more people hear these incredible sounds."
So far the label has hosted releases from 99 Souls, Après, Eli Brown, GotSome, Illyus & Barrientos, KC Lights, Kokiri, Kydus, Mambo Brothers, Mason Maynard, SAINT WKND and
Solardo among others.
