If any of the four vocal artists in the new pop and jazz quartet Hudson Lights look familiar, it's because three of them represented BYU's Vocal Point and competed on NBC's "The Sing-Off" in 2011, coming in fifth and gaining a new national audience of avid fans.

McKay Crockett, Keith Evans and Ross Welch wanted to continue singing together and perform music in the vein of Michael Buble and Josh Groban. Their sound called for four-part harmony, so they added Joseph Moore, a singer/songwriter from Nashville, formed a band, recorded an album and have carved out a unique musical niche with their fresh fusion of contemporary and classical styles.

Hudson Lights will perform tonight, October 11 at 7:00pm at SCERA Center for the Arts, 745 South State, Orem. Reserved-seat tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for children (age 3-11) and seniors (age 65 and older). They may be purchased online at www.scera.org, between 10am-6pm weekdays and Saturday from noon-6pm by calling (801) 225-ARTS or at the SCERA Center main office.

Hudson Light's winning ways continued in 2012, with a very close second-place finish in the Stadium of Fire National Talent Search. "I was there when they performed, and I'll tell you what, these guys are consummate showmen with a lot of charm."

Bob Ahlander, director of music at Shadow Mountain Records, which released Hudson Lights debut CD, believes Hudson Light fills a void in the music scene and lauds their classic four-part harmonies in mainstream music.

As for their live concert crowds, audiences can expect music in the vein of their CD, which includes the Beatles' "Eleanor Rigby," Josh Groban's "Brave," George Gershwin's "Can't Take that Away" and "Autumn Leaves," which Nat King Cole sang.
