SCERA is offering the community a free Sunday fireside Sept. 6 from an entertainer and impressionist who shares his faith in God through humor and music.

Jason Hewlett, who is known for his family-friendly music impressions, has taken his G-rated comedic success and skills as a member of the National Speaker's Association and developed a joyful and inspiring fireside that presents spiritual depth threaded with a light-hearted manner that captivates audiences of all ages.

The fireside will begin at 7 p.m. at the SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre, 699 S. State St., in the center of SCERA Park in Orem. No tickets and reservations are required. The gates will open at 6 p.m. SCERA has a limited supply of chairs that will be available at no charge, but attendees are also encouraged to bring either blankets or low-style lawn chairs.

"We have had Jason on our stage in the past, and we were among his very firsts venues when he was starting his career," says Adam J. Robertson, SCERA's President and CEO. "He's a phenomenal entertainer, and with this fireside you will see another, equally pleasing side of him."

Lesa Pulham of Orem, a youth leader in her church, says she brought a group of young women to see his fireside and they, along with the adults in attendance, were spellbound. "Jason had their complete attention," she explains. "He got us all laughing and then he would give us spiritual gems that were a profound 'a-ha' moment. It was a very motivational night."

Hewlett's elastic facial expressions have become a trademark for the funny man, who last performed at SCERA in 2000 to sold-out crowds. From Utah, the one-man entertainer moved his show to Las Vegas where he performed with the impersonator troupe, "Legends in Concert." He began doing impersonations of such stars as Latin singer Ricky Martin and Elton John. His repertoire expanded from two characters to more than fifty.

He also performs at corporate retreats, conventions, private functions and charitable fundraisers for companies such as Coca-Cola, Nu Skin International and Sinclair Oil Company. And at core of all his shows is squeaky clean entertainment.

Jason lists one of his career highlights as a performance in Afghanistan, Kuwait and Africa in 2014 where he performed for U.S. military troops.
