Ruby Boots Announces Debut Album 'Don't Talk About It'; Launches New Video

On February 9, 2018 Ruby Boots will release her Bloodshot Records debut album Don't Talk About It. The release follows her 2014 album Solitude, and features contributions from Nikki Lane as co-writer/on background vocals, The Texas Gentlemen as backing band, and producer Beau Bedford. Via American Songwriter, the album was announced alongside the premiere of a new video, directed by Joshua Shoemaker, for the first single "It's So Cruel".

Don't Talk About It is informed as much by the wide-open landscapes of her Australian homeland as the intimate writing circles of her current place of residence in Nashville. Echoes of first wave UK power pop and jangly punk intersect with the every(wo)man indie and pop-inflected muscle of Best Coast. Classic rock touchstones from T. Rex to the girl group-Wall of Sound to personal hero Tom Petty meld with a weary poet's eye recalling Hope Sandoval.
