In the summer of 2018, Royal Teeth had a major comeback with their dance rock single "Never Gonna Quit", which featured Ellen DeGeneres' favorite viral sensation Valerie Sassyfrass in the music video. The anthem that "radiates resilience and perseverance" according toAtwood Magazine, spurred a new start for the indie rockers, and the track was synced internationally, including an Australian rugby commercial. A fresh buzz ignited around Royal Teeth, best known for their 2013 hit "Wild", with fans asking for more music, and the band promising a new full length album on the horizon. The group continued to turn it up with their second release "It's Just The Start" in the fall, which Earmilk premiered, saying "Royal Teeth are back and better than ever, showing off their evolved musical style."
Now, following a succession of select radio shows and festivals across the US, Royal Teeth return with their latest single "Show You What I Can Do", featuring the sensational NPR darling Tunde Olaniran, a Flint-native who brings his signature flavor to the song.
Singer and guitarist Gary Larsen of Royal Teeth shares, "The song is about showing the world what you're made of. We tend to hide pieces of ourselves because we are afraid of negativity, and I've noticed from my own experiences that it only holds me back from truly being myself and achieving my goals in life. This song is saying that it's time to be brave and be yourself."
"Show You What I Can Do" comes with a badass music video filmed at Music City Raceway in Nashville. In the video, singer Nora Patterson owns the raceway in her feminine glory as the male bandmates cheer her on from the sidelines.
Larsen adds, "My Dad is a race car driver and I used to go a lot as a kid. When we started thinking of ideas for the music video, I became obsessed with using the race track as the location, and from there, we brought the idea to life with the help of Solar Cabin, Tunde Olaniran, and the Whitlow family. My dad is even in the video as Nora's coach, and Nora is driving his car "Underdog". A fitting name for the song and for this band."
With "Show You What I Can Do", Royal Teeth continue to break boundaries in their genre and are always evolving to offer audiences a fresh, new sound. Fans can anticipate the full-length album dropping later this year. In the meantime, Royal Teeth can be seen on the road supporting the new music at School Night @ Bardot in Los Angeles next week on February 25, then French Quarter and the Jazz & Heritage festivals in New Orleans in April.
Royal Teeth is composed of singer and guitarist Gary Larsen, singer Nora Patterson, guitarist Thomas Onebane, and drummer Josh Hefner. For more information visit royalteethmusic.com and follow the band on social media.
