Songwriter, performer, filmmaker and author Rory Feek does what he calls lifesteading on his farm south of Nashville. This practice is more about cultivating relationships than soil, as he's dug deeper into his community and family while they have worked through the two years since his wife and music partner Joey passed away. Once Upon A Farm: Lessons on Growing Love, Life, and Hope on a New Frontier (ISBN: 9780785216728, hardcover,www.onceuponafarmbook.com, Thomas Nelson) is out today, and available everywhere books are sold.

In his second book, the New York Times bestselling author takes readers on his incredible journey from heartbreak to hope and, ultimately, the kind of healing that comes only through faith and unconditional love. A raw and vulnerable look into Rory's heart, Once Upon a Farm recalls stories from the past two years as he and his family have grown closer through the unexpected circumstances life has laid out for them. Feek delves deeper into his second experience as a single father -- to daughters Indiana, Heidi and Hopie -- and details how lessons learned from his wife Joey still impact each day of his life, from parenting to gardening and everything between.

"Life is strange -- where one story ended, another began," Feek said in the trailer for the book.

Readers can get a sneak peek of the book here and can watch a very special interview with Rory and his daughters that aired on CBS Sunday Morning.

"The truth is, loving my wife Joey was fairly easy. Being part of that love story wasn't actually that much of a challenge. Because she was so amazing and everything about our faith and choices aligned just perfectly. This new chapter though - not just in the book, but in my life - has been a bit more challenging for my heart and my character," Feek said on his blog This Life I Live. "I've still got a long way to grow, but I believe that I'm getting there. And I can't help but think, in the end... how can we lose if we choose love?"

Feek is a New York Times bestselling author, and GRAMMY-winning singer and songwriter. He is most well-known as one-half of Joey+Rory, a country music duo he began with his wife, Joey. The couple captured the hearts of many as Rory chronicled their love story, the birth of their daughter Indiana and Joey's cancer battle on his blog, This Life I Live, ?as well as their preparation for her passing in March 2016 at age 40. Since, he's released a documentary, To Joey, With Love and a memoir, This Life I Live: One Man's Extraordinary, Ordinary Life and the Woman Who Changed It Forever (Thomas Nelson). He has three daughters and lives on a farm south of Nashville with the youngest, four-year-old Indiana, where they garden vegetables, raise animals and live a simpler life.
