Ron Gallo Releases New Single 'Love Supreme (Work Together!)' Image

Ron Gallo shares "Love Supreme (Work Together!)," off his forthcoming album, Stardust Birthday Party out October 5th on New West. "His infectious yawp and party-starting rhythms exude an authentic, urgent sense of exuberance," said Consequence of Sound.

A statement from Ron Gallo on "Love Supreme (Work Together!):

I wrote this song on GarageBand on my phone on an airplane. I was listening to "A Love Supreme" by John Coltrane, eating my really adorable but terrible tasting airplane meal of bowtie pasta (originally the first verse was about that) and looking down at the earth from the sky where you see no separation between people or things, there is just one thing. The chorus goes "god loves it when we work together". The god I am talking about is not a specific one, but everything, the one thing that is everything, the common thread in all existence, life, whatever you want to call it. In my head this is the soundtrack to a party in the streets where there is no line between shape, color, size, gender, sexuality, beliefs, anything, none of that s exists. Just anyone and everyone dancing kissing hugging laughing at the absurdity that we couldn't always see that our core we are all the same. Nice!

To quote Coltrane's "A Love Supreme" liner notes:

"During the year 1957, I experienced, by the grace of God, a spiritual awakening which was to lead me to a richer, fuller, more productive life. At that time, in gratitude, I humbly asked to be given the means and privilege to make others happy through music. I feel this has been granted through His grace. ALL PRAISE TO GOD."

That's what this is about. Creating from that place.

Stardust Birthday Party is the follow up to Ron Gallo's debut album, Heavy Meta, a "garage rock album whose emphasis on lurid fun doesn't sacrifice depth," said The Guardian, giving it four stars. Mojo called it a "Shrieky-voiced, Jad fair-esque solo set of mid-70s Bowery oddball punk." Stardust Birthday Party is available for pre-order today. The album will be released digitally, on CD and vinyl.

Ron Gallo will be out on tour in support of Stardust Birthday Party throughout the rest of the year. A festival mainstay - having performed at Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Hang Out, Firefly and sharing stages with White Reaper, Twin Peaks, Ty Segall, The Black Angels and more. He'll play dates throughout the US and Europe this Summer and will head out on a full North American tour this fall. Highlights include Gallo's Hometown of Philly at the First Unitarian Church on November 10th, Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn on November 12th and the final date at The Basement East in Nashville, TN on November 17th. Tickets for the November tour are on-sale now.
