"It's been eight years since our last live album so we figured it was time for another," says Zombie. "Actually we weren't planning on it, but we recorded a few shows and they sounded really great so we thought 'f it, let's get it out there.'"
Since 1997,
Rob Zombie has achieved great solo artist success with several multi-platinum and gold albums. As a rock icon and filmmaker with a unique vision, Zombie has continuously challenged audiences as he stretches the boundaries of his music and films. Zombie has sold more than fifteen million albums worldwide, and is the only artist to experience unprecedented success in both music and film as the writer/director of six feature films with a worldwide gross totaling more than $150 million. Zombie's Halloween, released in 2007, earned the No. 1 spot at the box office in its opening weekend.
In 2013,
Rob Zombie released his fifth solo album, Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor. Last year, Zombie released his first concert film, The Zombie Horror Picture Show and his annual Great
American Nightmare ultimate Halloween events successfully scared and entertained scores of people in Scottsdale, Arizona and Villa Park, Illinois.
Rob Zombie is currently in production for his seventh feature film 31. Last year
Rob Zombie broke boundaries and hosted a hugely successful crowd funding campaign for the film. This month the campaign was relaunched due to popular demand. "After wrapping up our first campaign we were bombarded with late requests to be part of the 31 action. So here we go again! Time to join the bloody clown mayhem! Filming starts in March so get ready for tons of exciting updates on what promises to be the most fed up film of the year" said Rob.
31 is in part, a crowd-funded endeavor that will allow Zombie's legions of fans to be involved from the ground up with his latest project. "I wish something like this had existed when I was a kid," Zombie explained. "I would have killed to be part of so many movies. Even being involved in the smallest way would have been awesome."
The seven-time GRAMMY® nominee is also working on his next studio album, to be released this year via Zodiac Swan/T-Boy/UMe. He will be embarking on a tour this summer as well.
