Rising French rapper MHD unveils new single "Bodyguard" today-listen here. "Bodyguard" is the first song to be released from his forthcoming sophomore album 19, named for Paris' 19tharrondissement where he grew up and set for releaseSeptember 19 on Motown Records, his first release for the iconic label.
Furthermore, following appearances at Coachella and every major European festival, MHD is set to tour the world next year, including a date at Paris' 20,000 seat Accor Hotel Arena on March 29, 2019. Further dates are to be announced.
19 follows MHD's 2016 self-titled, internationally Gold-certified debut album, as well as hits including "Bravo." MHD's music-which he has dubbed Afro Trap-mixes African instrumentation and trap beats. His catalogue has over 160 million streams on Spotify and 500 million views on YouTube.
MHD is Mohamed Sylla, a French artist of half Guinean and half Senegalese descent. In 2015, MHD was working delivering pizzas when he began posting videos of his original freestyles on YouTube. His videos quickly went viral, attracting the attention of artists, tastemakers and professional athletes around the globe, including Drake, Stormzy, Paul Pogba of Manchester United and more. In April 2016, he released his self-titled debut album to much critical acclaim. MHDreached #2 on the French charts and has since gone double platinum.
