Micky Dolenz does it all -- actor, musician, television director, radio personality, Broadway star and director! But his claim to fame stems from The Monkees where he shot to celebrity status as lead singer and drummer in the fabulous '60s! Dolenz brought us "Last Train to Clarksville", "I'm a Believer" and "Daydream Believer". The multi-talented Dolenz will entertain at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Friday, August 1, at 8 p.m. offering music lovers of all ages a chance to witness stardom at its finest. The Monkees TV show debuted on NBC and earned an Emmy Award. The Monkees' hits sold in excess of 65 million units with the first five albums attaining Platinum status. Special guest is The Characters, a 4-member pop/powerpop/rock band from New Jersey who have appeared with dozens of hit makers including The Monkees on their Heart and Soul video. An AllShows.com VIP Party Pass ($25 addt'l per person), which includes a pre-show cocktail party 6:30 - 7:15 p.m. with open bar, hors-d'oeuvre and priority parking, is available for this show by calling the box office (203-438-5795), which is part of the Xfinity Rock Series.

Micky also had an extensive career before and after being in The Monkees. As a young boy, he starred in a children's show called Circus Boy and had roles in many other television shows. His music career continued after The Monkees when he toured with his sister, Coco Dolenz, and joined "Dolenz, Jones, Boyce & Hart." Dolenz has travelled across the planet to entertain audiences.

"And then there's Micky Dolenz -- what a voice! Seriously! ...like, Roy Orbison-level, Freddie Mercury-level." --Huffington Post. Web Gossip/Times Square Gossip/NYC wrote: "I've always read where Dolenz has one of the best voices in rock 'n roll -... I was convinced tonight. He was superb!"

For tickets ($60), all or visit the box office at 203-438-5795, or order tickets online at ridgefieldplayhouse.org. The Ridgefield Playhouse is a not-for-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street, Ridgefield, CT.
