The Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall is excited to announce singer-songwriter Rick Springfield with special guest The Romantics coming to the Van Wezel on October 15, 2015 at 8:00pm. Tickets go on-sale Friday, July 31 at 10am.
With 25 million records sold and a Grammy Award for his No. 1 smash-hit "Jessie's Girl," Springfield has no intention of taking his foot off the accelerator. "I put everything I've got into making records," he says. "Sometimes people think they have you pegged but I trust my music to show them otherwise." In early 2013, Springfield collaborated with The Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl on the song, "The Man That Never Was," for the Sound City soundtrack, Sound City: Real to Reel. At the 2014 Grammy Awards the album won for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media.
Springfield has toured for over 30 years, hand-delivering rock heavy and high energy performances filled with his 17 Top-40 hits including: "Don't Talk to Strangers," "An Affair of the Heart," "I've Done Everything for You," "Love Somebody" and "Human Touch."
Springfield is also beginning to act again. Besides his critically acclaimed performance in this season's True Detective, he will be sharing the big screen on August 7th with co-star Meryl Streep in Ricki and The Flash, directed by Jonathan Demme. As an author, he has released two New York Times Bestsellers, including his smart, savvy, and rambunctious debut, Magnificient Vibration.
Tickets are $35-$75 and are available at VanWezel.org, the Box Office, or by calling 941-953-3368.
