Teen rock trio Residual Kid release a two-song digital bundle - The Volcom Sessions - today via Sire/Warner Bros. Records. The bundle includes two new songs, "Lightspeed" and "Tidal Wave," which were recorded live at Volcom's studio at their company headquarters in Costa Mesa, CA, over the summer.
Residual Kid, which is 18-year-old singer and guitarist Deven Ivy, and two brothers, 16-year-old bassist Max and 18-year-old drummer Ben Redman, released their debut EP, Salsa, in April. The Austin Chronicle called it "four tracks of grungy punk with hints of No Wave and Noise."
Relix has called the Austin, TX, band "the next phenomenon from one of rock-and-roll's most fertile breeding grounds," while The Huffington Post called them "the bad ass band that might just save rock."
Residual Kid won the "Best Punk Band" award at this year's Austin Music Awards at SXSW.
