The concert will be in tribute not only to Torian Sr.'s mentor, Curtis Mayfield, but also to Eddie Thomas, who was Curtis Mayfield's partner in CURTOM Records, as well as Clarence Ludd, who owned the High Chaparral, where Reggie first auditioned for the spot when Curtis left The Impressions.
Torian Sr.'s show, 'All Things Mayfield' received rave reviews at the Promontory. A five star review from Kelly Milionis of Examiner.com, calling the concert a truly moving and triumphant musical tour de force and celebration of a musical legend. Larry Cotton of UK, Basement Magazine said, "if you close your eyes you will think you are listening to Curtis Mayfield."
The sold-out concert at the Promontory was featured on WDCB Public Radio as their special concert of the month in tribute to Black Music Month.
Reginald's show at the Taste of Chicago is called "All Things Mayfield - Let's Do It Again" and will feature award-winning actress Miss Ereatha McCullough, performing the song with Reginald in a duet on stage at the Taste. The 13-piece Mayfield All Star Orchestra, under the musical direction of Syd Brown, will be SMOKIN!!!
The most recent release hitting the charts was penned by Torian following the Million Man March -- 'DADDIE LOVES', a tribute to fatherhood -- and 'PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS', written by Detroit's soul/drummer/composer, Drew Schultz. Both are available on Reginald's new CD release, "All Things Torian - I Give My Heart To You", an inspirational compilation of soul, gospel and R&B.
