London's red kite have streamed their second single 'and yet you miss the sea' today, taken from their forthcoming album Racquet that is available to pre-order via Blood Records for a forthcoming release on November 3rd from http://radi.al/Racquet. The new single can also be downloaded here: http://geni.us/andyetyoumissthesea :

New song 'and yet you miss the sea' is an upbeat indie-rock journey representing the human desire to create, explained by red kite's singer, guitarist and song writer, Daniel Fisher:

"It's a song about the irresistible pull of music, about surrendering to your calling and flying in the face of generally accepted common sense. Songs are strange and are magical things made by creatures ill-fitted for normal, otherwise meaningful lives. If i could do something else then I would, I would have loved to have been a novelist but unfortunately my prose is hideous, whereas my riffs and licks are awesome. And so I'm still drawn to that uncertain and tumultuous existence, the life at sea."

New album, Racquet is made up of 10 new songs recorded at The Lodge in Northampton written by Fisher, who has tried to quit music over and over again, but the draw of the creative flow that goes into making an album pulls him back in every time:

"There's a theme running through a lot of the ?rst part of the new album, and that's the strange nature of my relationships with my friends, people I've known since I was ?fteen, and the state of arrested development we live in as adults who have spent their lives trying to make it as musicians."

The line-up for red kite is formed by Jim Dare on guitar & vocals (Minuteman /Brett Anderson), Nick Willes on drums (An Escape Plan, Editors and Minor Victories), Jo Collis and Nicholas Stevenson (bass and guitar from Lucky Shivers, the latter in Oro Swimming Hour with Oliver Wilde and Daniel Fisher (guitar and vocals).
