Red Fang will return this October with their third studio album titled Whales and Leeches on Relapse Records. The Portland, OR-based group NPRtagged as "a sleeker style of riff-heavy metal," have revealed the cover artwork for Wheales and Leeches designed by graphic artist Orion Landau today. On Saturday August 17, Red Fang will head to Missoula, MT to headline the 12th annual TotalFest. After blistering performances at Sasquatch!and major European festivals all summer long including Sonisphere, Download, Hellfest, Reload, Full Force, Open Air and Eistenaflug, RED FANGwill announce a full U.S. tour for fall next week.
For the new album, the band worked producer Chris Funk (Decemberists) and mixer Vance Powell (White Stripes, Raconteurs, Kings of Leon). This same team worked on RED FANG's last album Murder the Mountains which Alternative Press magazine hailed as "a near masterpiece of tangled tar pit riffs and whisky-and-bong-hit vocals" (April 2011).
Formed in 2005, Red Fang--Bryan Giles (Guitar/Vocals), Aaron Beam (Bass/Vocals), David Sullivan (Guitar), John Sherman (Drums)--has two albums under their belt: their 2009 self-titled debut on Sargent House and 2011's Murder the Mountains on Relapse Records. Listen to both of the above albums streaming on www.redfang.bandcamp.com. RED FANG quickly became known for their series of hilarious videos directed by Whitey McConnaughy (Band Of Horses, Flogging Molly, Turbonegro). Each clip was picked up by Reddit and went viral, garnering over 1 million+ views, watch.

After more high-profile tours with Mastodon, Dillinger Escape Plan,Helmet, Saint Vitus and more, the band expanded their global footprint with a European trek and festival appearances across the continent. 2013 promises to be the biggest year for Red Fang yet, with their intense live performances, unique brand of humor, catchy songwriting and independent attitude-they show no signs of slowing down.
