Legendary country and comedy music funnyman Ray Stevens is back in the holiday spirit with the release of an all-new Christmas album. Today, Stevens released Mary and Joseph and The Baby and Me, his 3rd holiday record.
"I hope everyone enjoys my new Christmas CD as much as I have enjoyed recording it," says Stevens. "There is a good mix of light-hearted songs about Rudolph and Frosty and Grandma and even a cat that needs new claws. One of the songs is simply titled 'Merry Christmas' and it's my wish for everyone to have one of those this year."
The 10-track album features several Christmas classics as well as all-new songs, including the title track, "Mary and Joseph and the Baby and Me."
"When I first heard the song 'Mary and Joseph and the Baby and Me,' I knew I wanted to record it. I think it is really clever and well written."
The song, written by country artist Jeff Bates and radio personality John Ritter, tells the story of Christ's birth, from the perspective of the donkey. The official music video to the song premieres today exclusively on TasteofCountry.com. Stevens will perform the song live at next week's Christmas 4 Kids concert at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Tickets for the November 21 show are on-sale at Ryman.com.
Stevens' new album is available for purchase now at iTunes, Amazon and RayStevens.com.
