Between them, Radney Foster and Darden Smithhave released over two dozen albums, written hundreds of songs, played thousands of shows and logged millions of miles getting there and back. From April 11-13 and June 21-23, they'll play six more dates together. For these special evenings, Foster and Smith will join each other on stage to sing songs, read selections from their books, tell the stories behind both, and do their best to make each other (and the audience) laugh, cry, and get lost in the mystery behind the process of two of Texas' great songwriters.
Radney and Darden met and became friends back in the late 1980s and through the ups and downs of life and careers, and they have maintained a strong love of two things: songs and stories (along with family, good food, jokes, and the occasional glass of good bourbon). And now, both Radney and Darden have released books. Foster's For You To See The Stars and Smith's The Habit of Noticing: Using Creativity to Make a Life (and a Living) are very different creations, but both reflect their heritage as Texas storytellers -- and their ability to connect with a deeper meaning behind everyday life.

Foster has long since established himself as a troubadour and storyteller, racking up eight number-one singles throughout his three-decades-and-counting career, one with his iconic duo Foster & Lloyd. Radney's songs have also been recorded by a genre-spanning list of artists. Keith Urban, Marc Broussard, The Dixie Chicks, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Luke Bryan, Kenny Loggins, Los Lonely Boys, and Hootie & the Blowfish all know first hand the impact Foster's songs have on fans. For You To See The Stars, a collection of short stories and songs, is Radney's eleventh record and first book, and he shows no signs of slowing down any time soon.
Smith began writing songs at the age of ten and has been recording since 1986. His music remains rooted in the songwriting traditions of his home state of Texas while reflecting influences of rock, folk, and Americana rhythms and melodies. Described by All Music Guide as "a singer-songwriter blessed with an uncommon degree of intelligence, depth, and compassion," Smith continues to write songs and tour across the U.S. and Europe. He has delivered keynote speeches for companies large and small, speaks at conferences on creativity and collaboration. The Habit of Noticing: Using Creativity to Make a Life (and a Living) is available now in print, electronic and audio formats, and can be found at bookstores and online.
