Rachel Eckroth Debuts STRANGEST DREAM, Tour Starts Next Week Image

Rachel Eckroth will release When It Falls on October 19 and today debuts the third video leading to the album with "Strangest Dream", which premiered at PopMatters.

Directed by Derek A Welte, "Strangest Dream" is inspired by grooves and textures of Beck and Fink and features Derek Trucks playing an angry solo as well as ethereal harmonies from Carlos Ricketts from John Mayer's band. The video matches the track title... super trippy and dream-like.

Perhaps better known as a jazz keyboardist, Eckroth evokes the aura of the late David Bowie, experimental rockers Can and perhaps a great, lost David Lynch soundtrack. Featuring guitarists Trucks and Doyle Bramhall II, drummersMatt Chamberlain, Gary Novak and Sterling Campbell, and bassist/producer/husband Tim Lefebvre (David Bowie/Tedeschi Trucks Band), the album explores sonic areas far removed from the singer's early work.

Rachel Eckroth starts her tour next week - both on her own with Lefebvre and Bowie compatriot Gerry Leonard, and later opening for Rufus Wainwright (where Eckroth will also be playing in the band). A full list of tour dates can be found below and you can pre-order When It Falls HERE.
