ROCKIN' IN THE PARK 2014 Kicks Off Today with Catfight

MB Financial Park kicks off the summer season with Rockin' in the Park 2014. The weekly concert series is scheduled to begin today, May 29 and will continue through Thursday, August 28, featuring the music of classic cover bands, as well as fireworks, food and beverage tents on the park's great lawn, located at 5501 Park Place, Rosemont.

All Rockin' in the Park shows are from 7 p.m. - 9:45 p.m. Admission to Rockin' in the Park is free. Outside coolers are prohibited. Parking is available at the MB Financial Park parking garage and is free with validation from any of the park's venues.

The Rockin' in the Park 2014 schedule is listed below:

Thursday, May 29: Catfight - This all-girl band has been called "the darlings" of the Chicago cover band scene. From covering top artists of today including Brittany Spears, Icona Pop and One Republic, to playing classic favorites by Prince and Queen, there's something for everyone to enjoy in Catfight's pure fun, party show.

*Thursday, June 5: Think Floyd USA - Think Floyd is more than a tribute band; it is a celebration of the music of Pink Floyd. Covering music from The Piper at the Gates of Dawn through The Division Bell, Think Floyd presents a fresh, exciting, pure rock approach to the music of Floyd that makes it stand apart from the other Pink Floyd tribute bands.

Thursday, June 12: Your Villain, My Hero - This band combines top 40 pop, club and dance music with a high-energy stage show. With a set list that includes hits by Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, Pink and more, the band's pop melodies and occasional old-school-rhyme will keep guests dancing all night long.

*Thursday, June 19: Slippery When Wet - Direct from Atlanta, Ga., Slippery When Wet performs the exact live arrangements from Bon Jovi's 2000 "Crush" tour, 2002 "Bounce" tour, 2005 "Have a Nice Day" tour, 2010 "Lost Highway" tour and 2010 "The Circle" tour. This band's drive, musical ability and showmanship strive to duplicate the live Bon Jovi experience.

Thursday, June 26: Rod Tuffcurls & Benchpress - This band combines excellent musicianship, bone-crushing three-part vocal harmonies and a contagious stage energy that will keep audiences dancing. Their unique song repertoire includes hits ranging from The Beatles, Queen and Wilson Phillips to Miley Cyrus and Dave Matthews Band.

*Thursday, July 3: Brother Trouble - Consisting of brothers Mark and Jason Sutton, this Tennessee country music group has been a staple at Nashville's Wildhorse Saloon with their unique sound. Past winners of Kenny Chesney's "Next Big Star" competition, the duo brings the "kick-back and party down" fun back into the fabric of country music.

Thursday, July 10: American English - This Beatles tribute show was voted "number one" by thousands of Beatles fans. They were winners of sound-a-like contests at Beatlefest for three consecutive years. They have also won Illinois Entertainer of the Year and have been voted "Best Tribute Band" three of the last four years by their fans in the Chicago area.

*Thursday, July 17: Johnny Russler & The Beach Bums Band - This band features the sweet sounds of Caribbean rock, reggae and calypso. From Jimmy Buffet to Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff, Paul Simon, Jerry Walker and more, this band offers variety and entertainment to everyone who enjoys warm weather.

Thursday, July 24: The New Invaders - Packed with an incredible sound and theatrical touch, The New Invaders' 60s rock review ushers back in the fabulous era of British rock 'n' roll. The group's set list includes covers of The Monkees, Cream, Rolling Stones, Chicago, Janis Joplin and more.

*Thursday, July 31: Live The Who - Direct from Detroit, Mich., this band plays tribute to The Who at the band's unstoppable best from 1968-1974, capturing the feel, sound and look of the legendary rock band in each concert.

*Tuesday, August 5: Infinity - With a following that makes them one of the top cover bands in Chicago, Infinity lights up the stage with their unique vocals and instrumentals performing hits by Boston, Bon Jovi, Led Zeppelin, Styx, Queen, REO Speedwagon and Journey.

Thursday, August 7: Wedding Banned - Performing more than 100 concerts each year, this Chicago-based cover band will surely get audiences' hips moving with rock and dance music from the 80s, 90s and beyond. Ranked as one of the top drawing acts in the Midwest, Wedding Banned entertains at clubs, colleges, weddings, festivals and corporate events. The Taste of Lincoln Avenue, Belmont Sheffield Music Fest and Retro on Roscoe are just a few of the 75 street festivals Wedding Banned has headlined.

*Thursday, August 14: Kashmir - Bringing the best of Led Zeppelin to their fans, Kashmir seeks to re-create the experience of a 70s Zeppelin show utilizing authentic stage gear, costumes and special effects. The group performs Led Zeppelin's entire catalog including hits from the classic movie, "The Song Remains the Same."

Thursday, August 21: Maggie Speaks - With their high-energy stage show covering classic party favorites from the 60s, 70s, 80s and today's pop, Maggie Speaks plays music that everyone can enjoy.

*Thursday, August 28: Pride of Lions - Fronted by former Survivor keyboardist Jim Peterik and vocalist Toby Hitchcock, Pride of Lions combines the best elements of the great melodic rock era of the 80s with the modern production sounds of today.

*For the above starred dates, there will be a free fireworks show above MB Financial Park following the concert.
