Quinn and Gasparini Guest At MONDAY NIGHTS, NEW VOICES 4/25

Join Composer and producer, Scott Alan, for another night of 'Monday Nights, New Voices' April 25th at the Duplex Cabaret Theatre.

In addition to celebrating some of today's brightest unheard talent and today's most exciting composers and lyricists, the series will see some of it's successful alumni host this final year.

Hosting the January 31st concert will be Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson's Nadia Quinn. Quinn is an alumni of the series - appearing in the June 16th, 2007 concert series.

The upcoming concert will celebrate the work of composer and lyricist Drew Gasparini. Gasparini will be on hand to join the performers on selections from his songbook and offer stories about his songs.

Paul Staroba is the evening's musical director.

Performers include Bradley Beahen, DJ Bucciarelli, Erin Edelle, Dan Housek and Emily Kay Shrader. Show time is 7 PM.

The Duplex Cabaret Theatre is located in Manhattan at 61 Christopher Street. There is a $12 music charge and a two-drink minimum; for reservations call (212) 255-5438 or visittheduplex.com.

BIOS:

Nadia Quinn - Nadia was most recently seen in Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson on Broadway, as well as several national TV commercials. Nadia has been writing and performing original comedic music with her band Summer and Eve (www.summerandeve.com) across the country since 2002 and has an epic, cult-like Twitter following of 477 people including Ellen Degeneres. Drew Gasparini - Drew is an award winning composer/lyricist and singer/songwriter. He is the recipient of the John Lennon Songwriting Award (2006), MTC Award (2007), and the San Francisco Fringe Grant (2009). As a singer/songwriter he has shared the stage with acts such as Jason Mraz, Third Eye Blind, and the Plain White T's and has recorded 3 albums (available on iTunes). He attended the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles and majored in Vocal Technique and Musicianship. Before graduating in 2007, Drew composed his first musical, "Crazy, Just Like Me " (NAMT showcase 2009), The show was workshopped in San Francisco for a year before Drew made the move to New York City. His other works include: his second musical, "Circles" (book co-written by Louis Sacco), "Above My Pay Grade" a corporate musical commissioned by Holt Learning (Book by Louis Sacco). He has contributed to many other projects such as MAC Award winning, Cait Doyle's Hot Mess In Manhattan for which he wrote "The Text Message Song", and Broadway in South Africa's 2010 Gala. His musical, "Crazy, Just Like Me" went on to be featured in the San Francisco Theater Festival and in 2011 began making its regional theater debut. Drew has twice been the featured composer for the New York Theater Barn, Seattle's New Voices, a featured writer for The National Alliance for Musical Theater's (NAMT) 2009 songwriter's showcase at New World Stages His music has been performed all over the country at colleges and workshops, and has been showcased in several New York City venues, including sold out concerts of Drew's music at The Laurie Beechman, and Joe's Pub. Drew is a proud member of ASCAP, and is a part of the BMI/Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop for composers and lyricists. Currently Drew is working on getting "Circles" produced and writing 2 more shows. "Pearl" a kids musical he is co-writingwith Zoe Sarnak, and a one act called "Inappropriate Stories Told at a Bar."
