According to published reports, producer and engineer Mike Shipley has passed away.
Shipley worked on records with the likes of Aerosmith, Def Leppard, the Sex Pistols and more. He received a GRAMMY award for his work on Alison Krauss & Union Station's album "Paper Airplane". The Recording Academy's President and CEO Neil Portnow released the following statement: "Three-time GRAMMY winner Mike Shipley was a multitalented producer, engineer and mixer. Throughout his impressive career, he worked with a vast variety of acts across many genres, including Aerosmith, the Black Crowes, Def Leppard, Faith Hill, Enrique Iglesias, Alison Krauss & Union Station, Joni Mitchell, Tom Petty, and Shania Twain. We have lost a beloved industry professional who leaves behind a legacy of enduring work, and our sincerest condolences go out to his family, friends and all those who had the pleasure of knowing him."Videos
