Billboard.com reports that Kenneth 'Babyface' Edmonds, one of the producers on Barbra Streisand's highly anticipated duets album, has revealed that the project is almost finished.

"It's a beautiful, beautiful record," the producer says of the all-star album, adding "It took a long time to get it done, but we're finally, I don't want to say done-done, but we're right there."

He tells the site, "She's singing amazingly well, and it's been a fun project to do."

The legendary star of stage and screen revealed just last week that the album was in the works in a birthday greeting to Lionel Richie, in which she thanked him for being part of the project. Richie shared the kind words at his concert in suburban Detroit the next day.

According to the report, superstars Billy Joel, John Mayer, Michael Buble, John Legend, Blake Shelton, Andrea Bocelli and Josh Groban are all expected to lend their voices to the project along with a virtual duet with the late Elvis Presley.

An online posting from co-producer Walter Afanasieff earlier this year revealed that Beyonce, Stevie Wonder, Lady Gaga and Bette Midler were also to be featured. In 2012, he teased that Usher, Willie Nelson, Robin Thicke and Yo Yo Ma were also on tap for the album.

Neither Columbia Records nor Streisand's reps responded to requests for more details.

Streisand previously released a "Duets" compilation in 2002 (see album cover art above). Her last album, "Release Me," debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 in October 2012.
