ETOnline.com reports that Prince's former band, The Revolution is planning a reunion tour which was formed by the late singer, in the wake of his passing. The band made a special announcement on Facebook on Tuesday.
"We have decided after spending three or four days together now grieving over the loss of Prince that we would like to come out and do some shows," one of the large group's members said in the clip. "And we want to let you know that we'll be there soon."
The Revolution, who now consist of Brown Mark, Bobby Z., Wendy Melvoin, Lisa Coleman and Matt "Doctor" Fink, reached its height in the mid-'80s before disbanding in 1986. It's been less than a week since the news broke that Prince died at age 57 in his Minnesota home. The cause of death has not been determined.
The Revolution was an American rock band formed in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1979 by Prince. Although widely associated with rock music, the band's sound incorporated rhythm and blues, funk, pop, and hard rock elements. Before their official break-up, The Revolution had released two studio albums, two soundtracks, and two videos. The band is known for its many members, varied in race and gender.
The Revolution rose to international fame in the mid-1980s with Purple Rain, selling over 16 million albums in the United States alone. The band achieved two number-one Billboard 200 albums, six top ten singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and won three Grammy Awards.
