Preservation Hall Jazz Band Announce National Tour + Dates with Edward Sharpe

The iconic Preservation Hall Jazz Band have announced 33 new US tour dates. The band, based out of the venerable French Quarter venue Preservation Hall, continues to spread their mission to protect, preserve, and perpetuate New Orleans Jazz across America this summer with dates spanning from April to August.

This tour includes eight dates with acclaimed indie folk group Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. In addition, the band will be performing a four-night residency at the Miner Auditorium located in the luminous new SF Jazz Center. The tour begins at the historic New Orleans Jazz Fest on April 30 and concludes with a show featuring Yonder Mountin String Band and Drive By Truckers at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado.

The Preservation Hall Jazz Band began touring in 1963 and have performed around the world with a diverse list of artists ranging from Arcade Fire to the Foo Fighters to John Oates to Kamasi Washington among many others. Many of the band's charter members performed with the pioneers who invented jazz in the early twentieth century. These founding artists and dozens of others passed on the lessons of their music to a younger generation who now follow in their footsteps such as the current lineup.
