PREQUELL--who is Thomas Roussel-has created music for prestigious brands such as Chanel, Dior, Kenzo, Michael Kors, Mugler and Nike as well as composed, orchestrated and arranged for electronic music icon Jeff Mills. Most recently Prequell teamed with Dan Black and Imogen Heap for the live version of "We Drift On."
Somewhere between strings, orchestra and electronic, cinematic symphony and electro anthems, beautiful orchestrations and modernity, French musical artist Prequell's debutThe Future Comes Before is a blend of remarkable instrumental tracks and rich young interpreters' voices such as 'BBC Sound Of 2015' artist Rae Morris who appears on the lead single "Part XIV," as well as Claire Laffut, Fyfe, Shy Girls and Cruel Youth.
The 15-track album was recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studio One and Air Studios in London with the London Symphonic Orchestra and Isobel Griffiths' orchestra. Beyond orchestration and electronics, it highlights actual sounds from space: a NASA probe entering the magnetosphere of Jupiter (« Part XV »), gravitational waves emitted by two merging black holes (« Part XIII ») and the standing wave tone of Planet Earth (« Part IV »)."Part V" is featured in Mugler's recent worldwide fragrance campaign for Aura.
