Acclaimed singer-songwriter Plested has unveiled the beautiful new video for his recently released song "Ribcage." The video, which premiered via Ones To Watch, serves as the emotional second half of a story Plested began to tell earlier this week in the official video for his song "Backup Plan."
Upon release of the video for "Backup Plan" Plested wrote, "This is the story of 'Leon'. Someone that's dedicating his life to his art and to his dreams. He works in a cafe to earn a living and in his spare time he rehearses relentlessly to perfect his craft. No backup plan, do or die...When I first started writing songs, I was at university studying illustration and working at a café to get by - it was about a year or two before I was fortunate enough to be able to stick to it full time. And even after that, it was years before I wrote a hit song. This is for everyone who has a dream and a passion. Keep at it, have faith & it'll all work out."
Directed by Daniel Alexander Harris, the video for "Ribcage" continues the story of Leon and his struggle to open up in the midst of falling in love. The new song and visual follows the UK songsmith's latest releases "Priorities," "Backup Plan" and "First Time". After opening for Vance Joy, the winning and charismatic live performer, Plested recently made his headline debut with an intimate sold-out show at London's historic St. Pancras Old Church. He recently announced a string of live dates across Germany and Spain. More live dates will be announced soon - for updates, please visitplestedmusic.com.
Plested - born Phil Plested - has made a name for himself by penning songs for some of UK pop music's biggest names, including Zayn Malik, The Vamps, Kygo Feat. Miguel, Emeli Sandé, Naughty Boy, Calum Scott, and Little Mix, for whom he co-wrote the UK double platinum hit single, "Touch". But now Plested has his own story to tell. The gifted songwriter and artist has crafted a distinctive pop approach all his own, combining top tier songcraft with an irrepressible knack for melody and highly personal insight. He works to write songs that allow people to relate and feel that the song provided some explanation of their similar circumstances.
